Manhattan Beach Tree Section

When looking for a new dream home or next time your visiting our city to go to the beach, or enjoy great food at one of our gourmet restaurants, or specialty cafes, be sure to go by the different neighborhoods that we have and especially the Manhattan Beach Tree Section, located a little east of Downtown Manhattan Beach.

Speaking of Downtown Manhattan Beach, you can find great shops, chic and boutique shops, retail stores, coffee shops, surfing shops, professional service offices, a county library that is second to none, and many other shopping and entertainment options.  The streets are lined with nice shady trees and the area overlooks our pier and the ocean. Manhattan Beach has one of the top rated education systems in California, with its students consistently scoring highest on their achievement tests, statewide.

Before going on over to The Tree Section of our city, go by and check out the other neighborhoods to see the diversity of homes that we have here. In The Sand Section, which is the area all along the beach and inland about 4-5 blocks, there are many types of single family homes as well as condos.  The Strand Section is the area that goes along the beach and the huge single family homes that face the beach and ocean are very expensive and highly sought after, some selling for as much as up to $15M.  The homes right behind the Strand Homes, are in what we call the ‘Walk Streets’.  These are not really streets but public accesses to the beach and are actually wide sidewalks with the homes facing the sidewalks and are favorites for family’s because there are no cars or any type of vehicles on these Walk Streets.  The houses have alley access behind their homes for their autos.  Up in the northern area of the city, are many smaller homes and cottages with some condos as well. Most have no yards and are very small. This area used to be called El Porto. To the east of downtown is The Hill Section, where wonderful homes, some very large, are sitting on fairly large lots overlooking the town and the ocean. This is the 2nd most expensive area in the town. On the eastern border of Manhattan Beach is what we call the East Manhattan Section and includes many large single family homes built on huge lots with big yards and are by far more family oriented than most of the areas near the beach, with the exception of The Tree Section.  East Manhattan includes many tract type homes built in the late 40s and 50s, (some have been rebuilt or replaced with newer larger homes).  East Manhattan also includes Manhattan Village, which is a gated community of luxurious town homes and estate homes.  There is golf, a soccer field, parks and a pool for residents use only.  Manhattan Beach, and especially Manhattan Village, has many national sports stars and famous Hollywood Celebs as residents.

Now you’re at The Tree Section, your original destination spot. The Tree Section is a quiet, quaint area of town, located in quiet valleys and the streets are lined with mature trees. These trees are so respected that there is a city code that states they cannot be removed or damaged. The homes here are family oriented, and consists of single family homes, some older bungalows and cottages.  Many of the older and smaller homes have been replaced with larger, new and more modern homes.  There is no doubt that this is where the family’s are located, with kids playing ball in the streets, or many family’s blocking off certain streets for a neighborhood party, and this is not unusual.  It’s quiet here, and very peaceful, with some of the streets still having the old gas lights put up decades ago. This is a great place to raise a family. Its close to anywhere you want to go in Manhattan Beach, or to the freeway accesses to take you to other famous Southern California cities and attractions, or to Los Angeles only 19 miles away, to shopping in downtown M.B., or to the shopping centers within blocks of here.  It has many churches, private schools, many banks, medical and dental options and anything else you would ever want.
